Welcome to Saint Albert the Great

History of the Parish

The Church of St. Albert the Great began its service to the Dearborn Heights community in the summer of 1955 at Pardee School.

Fr. Leo DePlaunty was the founding pastor and in June of 1955 celebrated the first Mass in the newly constructed Church.

In 1961, Msgr. John Weier became pastor and served the parish for seventeen years.

He was followed in succession by Fr. Arthur Fauser in 1978, Fr. Anthony Bologna in 1984, and Fr. Larry Kaiser in 1988.

Our present pastor, Fr. Daniel Zaleski, assumed his duties in 1999.

St. Albert the Great continues to be an oasis of spiritual growth as young families join the congregation.

The parish remains viable through a number of faith and family oriented programs including an active Parish Pastoral Council, Family Faith Formation programs, Youth Ministry, Young Adult Ministry, and a Young Families program. Spiritually, St. Albert conducts Novenas several times a year, Divine Mercy services, lecture programs, and "java with Jesus", a monthly get together to talk about our faith. The St. Vincent dePaul program provides help throughout the community.

Quote from St. Albert the Great

The greater and more persistent your confidence in God, the more abundantly you will receive all that you ask.
